2023: Coalition of Student Unions Pledges 10million Votes for Obi/Datti Mandate

A coalition of Students Bodies operating under the umbrella of Students Obi-Datti Network (SON) says it has perfected strategies to deliver 10 million votes for the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi during the 2023 General Polls.
The group drawn from current and former executives of students and youth leadership from Campuses as well as various organizations across the nation vowed to work for the victory of Mr Peter Obi.
National Coordinator of the Network, Comrade Kenneth Okeke, who was speaking during the inauguration of its South East Zonal and State Executives in Awka, Said their decision was based on capacity and competence of the candidate to fix the nation.
“We have resolved to mobilize and create this movement with the mandate of galvanising 10 million votes only from our structure cut across geopolitical zones, state, local government, ward and polling unit level.
“We are poised in deepening the conversation of domesticating the deployment and penetration of the network in the tertiary institutions through voter education, booth to booth mobilization, awareness and sensitisation campaign in all the polling units”
Reflecting on its slogan “Taking the Good News to Our Campuses, he decried the nation’s retrogressive trend over the years, positing that the burden of its transformation should be a collective responsibility of all patriotic citizens.
He added that they took time to understudy the manifestos of all the top contenders for the exalted office as well as their track records and agreed to queue behind Obi- Datti mandate for realization of the citizenry yearnings.
The Keynote Speaker, Bar Chinedu Idigo, admonished youths which constitute about 60 percent of the nation’s population to use their votes to enthrone responsive leadership to change the narratives.
While supporting the Obi-Datti mandate, he expressed optimism that if elected into office come 2023, the nation’s process of recovery would take full swing, even as he identified high cost of governance, underemployment, insecurity, incessant strike actions as pressing issues to be addressed.
In a Goodwill Message, the Labour Party Candidate for Anaocha 2 State Constituency, Comrade Osita Ozalagba enjoined them to sustain the struggle for good governance and work for the success of the party to drive the nation into accelerated economic development.
