2023 Polls: Anambra Police Urges Political Leaders to Notify Campaign Activities

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Eworo Echeng has urged leaders of political parties to promptly notify the command of their campaign activities as political campaigns across the state begins Wednesday 28 September 2022.

This was contained in a statement released by Police Spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu and made available to newsmen after CP Echeng had met with leaders of Political Parties in the state at his office in Amawbia on Tuesday.

The CP noted that campaigns are critical part of the electioneering process and that the timetable will enable the Command provide adequate security for the safety of participants for such events.

He assured that the command would deploy other tactical and operational units as well as traffic control policemen to strategic points to sustain existing public safety and order in the state.

“The teams, are expected to carry out security patrols, surveillance, traffic control and patrols in conjunction with sister security agents. This will definitely prevent criminal elements/hoodlums from taking advantage of unsuspecting party faithfuls and properly secure such events”, he added.
