Blessing Adagba, the Development Centre Coordinator for Ngbo Central, has regained her freedom after being held captive for four days by unknown kidnappers.
Tobias Ogbonna, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Internal Security, confirmed her release during an exclusive interview in Abakaliki.
He expressed relief at her safe return and praised the efforts of law enforcement and local residents in securing her freedom.
“We are grateful for the support from all stakeholders, including the local community and law enforcement agencies, that played a vital role in securing her freedom,” Ogbonna said.
The incident sparked widespread fear and concern in the Ngbo Central community, raising questions about the effectiveness of local security measures.
According to Ogbonna, residents welcomed her release with great relief and have called for stronger efforts to prevent similar incidents.
He assured the public of the state government’s commitment to strengthening security infrastructure and urged community members to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.
Investigations into the kidnapping are ongoing. Meanwhile, the government has renewed its focus on improving safety and building public trust through community-driven security partnerships.
