The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, for his groundbreaking efforts in the health sector, particularly the establishment of a Coordinated Wholesale Centre (CWC) and a pharmaceutical industrial hub.
During its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Anambra, ACPN highlighted the governor’s commitment to streamlining drug distribution, enhancing industrial development, and strategically appointing pharmacists to key government positions. Notably, the appointment of Pauly Onyeka as Commissioner for Housing and Dr. Godwin Nnadozie as Special Adviser on Pharmaceuticals and Medicals was praised as an exemplary move.
The association also urged the state government to implement community pharmacy-based public health programs, deploy digital solutions for drug distribution, and strengthen regulatory frameworks to eliminate counterfeit drugs. Additionally, ACPN advocated for the passage of the Drug Management Agency (DMA) Bill, emphasizing its potential to improve drug accessibility and generate revenue.
