Anambra State Commissioner For Agriculture,Dr Forster Ihejiofor, has called for stronger collaboration between Gospel Ministers and Political Class in promoting the welfare of the people.
The Commissioner made the call while receiving in audience a delegation from Congress Of Nigerian Gospel Ministers Inc,led by its National President,Prof Philip Akam,on a courtesy visit in his office.
Dr Ihejiofor,who described the Ministers as stewards working in God’s vineyard, emphasized the need for a serious synergy between the Ministers and Political Class to achieve the desired result.
“Gospel Ministers and the Political Class should synergize and see themselves as collaborators in the business of making things happen for people.
“So, when we are serving the people,we are serving God.If our Ministry does not speak the welfare, wellbeing and security of the people,then it is short of what it suppose to do”
He advised all those occupying leadership positions to emulate Governor Soludo by using their various offices in improving the lives of the people.
“I am here today because i think God’s will should be done in the political and governance space.People cannot receive the value of qualitative leadership unless God’s principles are enthroned in administering the affairs of the state”
According to him, Governor Soludo has broken the cycle of poverty in the state from foundation through introduction of free education,free maternal delivery and other intervention programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
While affirming that the group represent his ecosystem,he urged them to sustain their evangelism drive for the greater good of the society.
Earlier,the National President of the Congress,Prof Philip Akam, explained that the Congress formed in 1993 in the state had held a lot of eventful activities targeted at rapid growth of the gospel to effect a new socio economic order for the benefit of the citizenry.
He noted that the visit was to formally notify the Commissioner of his nomination as their National Patron,adding that the investiture would hold during the Inauguration of the State Officers on 11th Dec,2024 at Stanel Event Centre,Awka.
Prof Akam,who doubles as the Founder of the Congress, further noted that the State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, expected to deliver the keynote address, will also be honoured during the event.
He recalled that the Commissioner had assisted the body immensely through financial Support for crusades and spread of the gospel , underscoring the importance to improve the moral tone of the society.
The visit attended by other members of the Congress including Apostle Christian Nwabunwanne, Pastor Chidozie Ikechebelu, Pastor Uche Samuel,Pastor Mrs Joy Eje,Pastor Mrs Ndizoba Faith,Pastor Uchenu Chris,Rev Chibueze Dibor, Apostle S.C Johnbosco and Rev Okene Kingsley featured intercessory prayers for the Commissioner and the state.
