A frontline politician, Sir Paul Chukwuma has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party(YPP) polling a total of 366 of the delegates votes at the party’s primary election which held at its state secretariat,Awka
Sir Chukwuma was declared winner after the exercise conducted through option A4 and participated by party’s delegates drawn from the 21 local government areas of the state.
According to the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Bar Vidieno Bamaiyi, “Sir Paul Chukwuma having satisfied the requirements for YPP electoral guidelines and law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected as the candidate of YPP”
National Chairman of the party, Bishop Amakiri who addressed party faithful shortly after the election, affirmed the party’s readiness to win the November 8th governorship election.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Sir Chukwuma, reassured of his commitment to rebuild the state if voted into office, pledging to impact on party members.
‘I stand to accept in clear terms my nomination as the candidate for YPP in this year’s governorship election. I thank the delegates and members of our party who participated in this exercise.
“YPP is a party of discipline,party of orderliness and i am happy to be here”
He,then,enjoined them to sustain the spirit of love,peace and progress by working hard for the success of the party during the poll.
