The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze has described the death of former Speaker, Chief Anayo Nnebe as a great loss to the State in general and Anambra State House of Assembly in particular.
In his Condolence Message to late Nnebe’s family on behalf of the State Legislature, which was made available to newsmen in Awka by his Senior Special Assistant/ Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emma Madu, the Speaker noted that Nnebe had distinguished himself as a renowned Public Servant and Selfless Politician in view of his numerous accomplishments.
The Speaker who recounted some of the achievements of the late Nnebe to include construction of numerous constituency projects, securing employment opportunities and provision of empowerment schemes for his constituents among others during his time as Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Member that represented Awka North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly respectively,lauded his legislative prowess.
He further described the late former State Assembly Speaker as a grassroot politician, philanthropist, devout Christian and community leader who started as Secretary to the Government of Awka South Local Government Area,State Assembly Speaker, National Assembly Member as well as Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on State Assembly and National Assembly Matters.
He however, expressed satisfaction that the Late Nnebe made giant contributions to the development of his home town Awka and Anambra State at large.
Udeze maintained that though his immediate family, Awka Community, Ndi Awka North and South Local Government Areas, Anambra State House of Assembly, National Assembly and indeed Nigerians will miss the Late Nnebe, his eventful life and times are enough consolation.
The Speaker prayed God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the soul of the Late Nnebe eternal rest.
