Anambra State Government has commenced intervention work on Igboukwu axis of Isuofia-Ekwulobia road, Aguata Local Government Area.
The intervention work which is currently ongoing at the failed portion of the Igboukwu-Isuofia Ekwulobia road, has made both human and vehicular movement on the road to experience difficulties before the administration of Prof. Charles Soludo.
At the site, drainage construction was on going on both sides of the road while filling of the failed portion of the road is almost 80 per cent completed.
The site Supervisor, Engineer Moses Akpa said that they commenced work since August, to be completed by October.
Akpa added that the road is about 300 meters with numerous challenges that gulped resources and time while expressing satisfaction that the earth work is already done.
He said that they had to create catchment pit near the road and channelled waters around the area into the pit to enable them work freely.
According to him, a bigger catchment pit will be created 400 hundred meters away from the road to ensure that the road is not threatened.
In their separate remarks, some road users Mr. Augustine Anigbogu and Maryann Mbadugha decried the condition of the road before the State government’s intervention and appreciated Gov. Charles Soludo for coming to their aid.
