Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has called for the promotion of Igbo culture and tradition in order to have a peaceful and progressive society.
The Governor made the plea during a Viva Symposium organized by the Society for the Development of Igbo Philosophy, Science and Technology held in Awka.

The event attracted government functionaries, Academia and well to do in the society.
The Governor represented by the State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Mr. Don Onyenji noted that people are identified by their culture and language, hence the creation of the Ministry of Culture in the state.
He maintained that culture of Ndigbo promotes hard work, diligence and decency and wondered why some young people decided to live in the bushes, appealing to them to retrace their steps in the interest of all.

The governor reminded Ndi Anambra of the numerous road projects he has commenced and solicited their co-operation in order to achieve his administrative agenda.
He promised to recover the lost glory of Anambra State, noting that Anambra people are doing great everywhere in the world and called on them to have a think home Philosophy.
In a speech, the Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Charles Esimone said they created centre for Igbo and African civilization in order to document Igbo heritage, medicine, engineering and technology for scholars to think and take different aspects for the betterment of Ndigbo and Africa.
He further said that they have centre for technical transfer where the ingenuity knowledge of our fathers are transferred to the younger generations.

Presenting a paper, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu spoke on the Life and Name: the role of IVF in resolving fertility and child sex issues in Igbo society, encouraging those seeking for a child to have hope in God and in science as there is no age limit when one can have a child.

In another paper presentation, Rev. Fr. Bona Umeogu spoke on the Medio-Cultural exploration of Igbo Cardinal values of life and name.
