Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike has bagged the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria (OSN) Commissioner of Vision Award at the just concluded 48 Scientific Conference/49 Annual General Meeting of the association.
Dr. Obidike who received the award in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka, thanked Gov. Charles Soludo for the opportunity to serve the public, expressed his gratitude to OSN for bestowing the award on him and promised to double his effort.
“This award will ginger me to put in more effort in the healthcare sector of the state, we cannot stop Mr. Governor for his continued support and the enabling environment he created for us to discharge our duty.
The Commissioner dedicated his award to the State Government and Healthcare Workers in the state appealing to all not to relent in their efforts to make the health sector better.
President OSN, Prof. SN Nwosu thanked Gov. Soludo for appointing a young, sound and workaholic Health Commissioner in the state.
Prof. Nwosu said that the first ever state Eye care Center, introduction of free antenatal, free surgery and delivery, renovation of healthcare centers and building of new General hospitals are being appreciated by the good people of the state.
