The compulsory monthly environmental sanitation exercise for the month of December will hold in all parts of Anambra State on Saturday Dec. 17.
This information is contained in a press statement made available to the public and signed by the Managing Director (MD) Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), Mike Ozoemena.
According to the MD, the change in the usual last Saturday date for the exercise was in a bid to ensure a clean, green and livable Anambra State during the Christmas and New year festivities.
“As usual, Ndi Anambra are encouraged to participate fully in the exercise, clean their surroundings and desilt water channels around them.
“No form of human or vehicular movement will be tolerated within the hours of 7am – 10am; defaulters will be apprehended and sanctioned by law enforcement agencies.”
The statement urged Ndi Anambra in line with the State Government’s policy on the door to door collection of refuse to properly bag their wastes and leave same in front of their homes for adequate disposal by the Waste Management Agency.
