The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Council, has extended its deepest condolences and solidarity to the NAWOJ National Chairperson, Comrade Aisha Ibrahim, following the devastating floods that ravaged her home state of Borno, affecting her community and people. The council shares in her distress and offers its support during this challenging time.
“In a statement jointly signed by Chairperson, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, and Assistant Secretary, Comrade Faith Onyemuche, the Council condemned the catastrophic loss of homes, livelihoods, and the unimaginable hardships faced by numerous individuals and families in Borno State, describing the situation as truly heart-wrenching and devastating.
“We acknowledge the immense hardship, distress, and displacement that such catastrophic events bring, and we extend our deepest sympathy and compassion to all those affected.
“In these difficult times, we stand in solidarity with you, sharing in your grief and struggles, and praying fervently for the safety and well-being of all affected individuals.
“We also call on the federal government, humanitarian organizations, and well-meaning individuals to urgently provide aid and support to Borno State and its people, helping them navigate this crisis and rebuild their lives.”
