Anambra State contingent to this year’s World Teachers’s Day Celebration have come home with laurels praising the achievements of the Gov. Charles Soludo’s led administration’s huge investment in the education sector and his dedication to nurturing future leaders in the state.
These achievements reaffirm Anambra’s position as a beacon of educational excellence in Nigeria.
The celebration is marked annually Worldwide on October 5 and as usual teachers and schools from around the country converged at the Eagle Square, Abuja to mark the day with match pasts and other activities.
The State’s participants scored high in a lot of display and categories at the event.
For the Star Teacher Award, Joseph Nwosu, an educator from Government Technical College, Osamala, Ogbaru LGA, emerged as the Overall Best Teacher in all categories, topping the Federal Government’s list.
His achievements earned him a brand-new Hyundai Accent car.
In the Excellent School Award, Holy Child Secondary School, Isuofia, Aguata LGA, secured the Second Best Secondary School position Nationwide .
For the Exceptional Leaders Award, two Anambra educators received recognition namely:
Adaeze Franca Chukwudumeme of Aforigwe Primary School, Umudioka, Dunukofia LGA, who was named Second Best Primary Head Teacher.
While Dr. Grace Amara Umezinwa of the Girls High School Uga, Aguata LGA, took the Second Best Secondary School Principal spot.
Anambra teachers also showed how good they were in securing the second position in the March Past among 37 states and Federal Education Parastatals.
