The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Uche Okafor has donated speed boat and live jackets to serve the communities experiencing flood menace in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Speaking at the occasion, Okafor said that he has visited the affected communities and the victims at the holding centres and he was conversant with the yearnings as well as the aspirations of the people at this period.
According to him, the people elected me as their representative, so, I’m duty bound to provide a purposeful leadership to them and attend to the issues affecting their welfare.
“The donated speed boat is for the submerged part of the Ayamelum Ezu-Road to ameliorate stress and save funds for commuters.
“The general public who commute through the axis is hereby advised to utilize the opportunity. He explained that the boat will start operating on Oct. 10 till the flood receded.
Recieving the items, the Counsellor representing Anaku ward 1, Mr Ginika Samuel thanked the speaker, promising to be in compliance with the directives of the government.
