Government of Anambra State has continued the demolition of illegal structures and shanties at Fegge, Onitsha.
The taskforce arrived Akunnia Ojote waterways at Fegge around some minutes past eleven am.
On arrival, it was observed that some residents around the area built on waterways which has over the time caused water to pass through wrong channels thereby destroying people’s properties and lives risked.
Speaking to the press, some of the residents including Mr. Louis Mbanefo expressed happiness over government efforts to tackle the issue of flood in the area.
They called on government not to relent in the good work they have started.
The demolition equally continued at Plot 5 Boundary Avenue Housing Estate, Fegge Onitsha.
Affected structures include Perimeter fencing at Yahweh People’s Assembly Inc., Foursquare Gospel Church and Dee Jones Fuel Station.
Recall that the exercise commenced yesterday where many structures were pulled down in the resolve of the present administration to keep Anambra environment sane.
