The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo says Anambra West Local Government is the only Local Government (LG) Headquarter in Nigeria with no accessible road.
Gov. Soludo speaking while performing the flag-off ceremony of Mmiata Anam- Nzam road said the road will be completed by January 2023.
The governor while handing over the site certificate to the contractor handling the road project informed the public that money for the road project is 50 percent ready, and will be paid before commencement of the work.
He assured Ndi Anambra that his administration is very particular about funding projects that will have a greater impact on the people.
Soludo added that if as phase three of the project Kogi State Government agrees to go into an agreement with Anambra State then the Onono road will be done so as to make going to Abuja a three hours journey thereby opening Anambra West to become a gateway to the North.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, his Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, among others were in attendance during the road flag-off.
