The Anambra State Independent National Electoral Commission has successfully carried out a one- day Workshop on zero – tolerance against fraud/violence riddled election in Awka ahead of Saturday’s LGA election in the state.
In a keynote address presented at the occasion, the keynote speaker Dr. Raymond Ofor urged the citizenry to assist ANSIEC to achieve the feat.
Dr. Ofor warned that malpractices that could create violent disputes that will disrupt election results should be discouraged.
One of the participants and the deputy chairmanship aspirant for Oyi LGA Chief Augustine Nwofia said that his team is sensitizing the electorate on the need to come out on Saturday and vote for all APGA candidates.
He promised that if elected, quality representation will be his watch word.
On his part, Mr. Obinna Osuji a councillorship aspirant for Odoakpu ward 2 Onitsha South LGA, also said he is sensitizing the people of his ward on the need to come out on Saturday and vote for all APGA candidates.
In a related development, the traditional ruler of Omasi Igwe Benjamin Okeji confirmed that he was at the APGA Mega rally at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square Awka to witness the event ahead of the LGAS polls on Saturday.
Igwe Okeji expressed his support for APGA and noted that the party is on the ground to sweep the polls in all LGAS in the state.
The royal father announced that the electorate in his community Omasi are being sensitized on the need to come out on Saturday to vote for all APGA candidates.
Igwe Okeji expressed his support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo and passed a vote of confidence on his good governance.
