A Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) in Umuawulu Community, Awka South Council, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, has gifted five indigent people with vehicles to sustain their economic lives.
He also presented the sum of N20,000 each to 50 women to support their businesses.
Chief Ekweozor, who is the founder of Ide Global Movement, said the gesture was in fulfillment of his promise before the party’s primary election to empower members of the party.
He added that the vehicles were presented to the beneficiaries to encourage them in party activities and to assist them to earn decent living.
While describing himself as a messenger of hope, he said desire to impact on lives was his driving force.
Earlier, the Traditional Ruler of Umuawulu Community, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, commended the kind gesture of Chief Ekweozor for using his wealth to touch lives.
While praising his philanthropic spirit, he noted that he had offered scholarship to indigent students as well as communal development initiatives and called on other wealthy people to emulate his gesture.
Some of the beneficiaries including Chijioke Afunanya, Chinyere Okpala, Ikechukwu Obuka and Damian Nwankwo,appreciated their benefactor for considering them worthy to benefit from his empowerment program and prayed God to continue to strengthen him.
