The Catholic Archbishop Of Onitsha, His Grace Most Rev.Valerian Okeke has donated relief materials to Anambra West flood victims quartered at Crowther Memorial Primary School Onitsha.
The items donated were, 30 bags of rice, 5 bags of beans, 5 cartoons of noodles, 100 pieces of sleeping mattresses, 150 tubers of yam, packets of biscuits, toiletries and 100 bags of sachet water.
Addressing the victims, His Grace said that the visit to the Holding Camp was to sympathize with the flood Victims who were displaced from their various homes and communities due to excessive flood.
He prayed to God to save the people of the submerged areas, and for the flood to recede and dry up.

The prelate commended the efforts of the state government, noting that what he has done was to compliment their efforts toward ensuring that adequate welfare and maintenance of the flood Victims are reasonably taken care of.
He urged individuals of goodwill, public & private leaders and Non Governmental Organizations to support the flood victims in this terrifying time.
The Transition Committee Chairman, Mr. Felix Ikechi expressed his profound and heartfelt gratitude to His Grace for the support and empathy to the good people of Anambra West in the Camp.
The Mayor reassured the Archbishop that the items donated would be judiciously used in the camps by the flood victims.
Thousands of residents from Anambra West LGA have fled their homes owing to the floods which submerged their houses.
