The role of Artificial Intelligence in today’s global space has sparked off a chain of local, national and international discourse on its profitability in addressing the challenges facing the world in many ramifications.
The Department of Business Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Campus has keyed into the global trend of embracing the technology to meet its high demands for academic and other logistic excellence.
In its multidisciplinary International Conference in Awka with the theme,”Navigating The Artificial Intelligence Frontier In African Business Environment: Issues,Challenges And Prospects, the department seeks to engage meaningful stakeholders to synergize with it to promote the ideals of the technological advancement.
Presenting an address during the occasion, the head of department of Business Administration Prof. Faith Onwuchekwa told participants to remain conscious of the profound role that the Artificial Intelligence can play in redefining Africa’s place in the global economic order.
Prof. Onwuchekwa urged them to think critically about how to harness the technologies while addressing the unique challenge the continent faces.
She urged all relevant stakeholders to assist the department in upgrading its facilities to enhance its ability to promote top- tier education and training, promote a business administration incubation laboratory and provide a utility vehicle for its use.
The acting Vice Chancellor of Unizik Prof. Carol Arinze- Umobi an award recipient from the department represented by Prof. Ezinma Nnabuife of the department of business administration in a remark, promised to assist the department in achieving its lofty ideals.
In an opening remark by the chairman of the occasion Senator Stella Oduah represented by Mr. Innocent Nwanta she spoke of the imperatives of Artificial Intelligence in driving today’s business ventures.
Senator Oduah an award recipient from the department, lent her support to the department to achieve its policy framework.
The keynote speaker at the occasion, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife and the lead paper presenter one Prof.Koudzo Kamlanvi of Hamburg University who delivered his paper online both enumerated the gains of Artificial Intelligence in driving today’s business ventures.
The Chief Executive Officer, Blessed Chutex Food Equipment Mr. Chuks Anthony who bagged an award for entrepreneurial trail blazer from the department of business administration promised to assist the department to achieve its lofty ideals through the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Another awardee from the department Mr.Uchenna Ifediora represented by Barrister Gabriel Moneke also promised to assist the department to achieve its academic excellence.
Other awardees from the department Prof. Lilian Orogbu representing Awka North/ Awka South federal constituency in the house of representatives represented by Mrs. Ogechukwu Ekweozor, Mr. Linus Williams an industrialist, Prince Chinaza Chikezie an entrepreneur and Mr. Kennis Uzoaga an industrialist based in Asaba all identified with the lofty ideals of the department in promoting academic excellence through the use of Artificial Intelligence.
