In her opening remarks, Dr. Anugwu welcomed members of the Committee and encouraged them to contribute innovative ideas that would aid in the transformation and development of the Centre.
The meeting was held in her office at the Federal Medical Centre, Onitsha.
“Distinguished members of the Procurement Planning Committee, colleagues, and stakeholders, good day, and welcome to today’s meeting.

“It is both an honor and a privilege to stand before you as we embark on the crucial task of ensuring that our medical facility remains fully equipped to provide the best care for the public and the communities we serve,” Dr. Anugwu began.
She emphasized the importance of both capital and recurrent projects for the future of the Centre. “Our primary focus today will be the planning and execution of both capital and recurrent projects. These projects are key to the ongoing development and operational efficiency of our medical centre,” she stated.
Dr. Anugwu further pointed out that the increasing demands for healthcare services necessitate alignment with the goals of the Federal Government of Nigeria. “It is vital that we align our procurement strategies with the overall goals of our institution, ensuring that every investment we make contributes directly to improving healthcare delivery,” she added.

“The meeting also aimed to review and discuss several procurement proposals, with members considering the long-term benefits of each proposal for the Centre.
“We will ensure that our procurement practices remain transparent, cost-effective, and fully compliant with the applicable regulations and guidelines.”
She concluded her remarks by reminding the Committee of their shared responsibility. “As members of this committee, we must prioritize the well-being of our patients and the effective functioning of this institution. Let us approach this meeting with a sense of responsibility, dedication, and a shared commitment to making the best decisions for FMC Onitsha.”
