The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji has called on the Corps members serving in Anambra State to use the skills they acquired while in orientation camp to impact on their host communities as well as improve their living standards.
Mr. Onyenji gave the advice during the NYSC carnival held at the Orientation Camp, Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area.
Commissioner Onyenji while commending them for their artistic displays during their carnival urged them to integrate well with their host communities and to be friendly with them in order to achieve their goals.
He also encouraged them to be multi talented and to explore opportunities available for them to empower themselves.
The commissioner while charging them to be the change agents Nigeria needed wished them well in their endeavours and encouraged them to key into the Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s developmental programmes by supporting him through their community services.
On his part the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Emeka Okebo said that culture is important as it helps to identify a particular people.
He informed the Corps members that Anambra people are hospitable and peace lovers urging them to reciprocate the same to them.
He prayed for their safety, job opportunities and divine favour.
The event featured displays of various cultural heritages of the Nigerian people.
