Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N950 to N890 per litre, effective February 1, 2025. This strategic adjustment is in response to the positive outlook within the global energy and gas markets, as well as the recent reduction in international crude oil prices.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, stated that the price revision reflects ongoing fluctuations in global crude oil markets. He emphasized that this reduction will lead to a meaningful decrease in the cost of petrol nationwide, driving down the prices of goods and services and reducing the overall cost of living.
Dangote Refinery called on marketers to collaborate in ensuring that these benefits are passed on to the Nigerian populace. The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery plan, which aims to make Nigeria self-sufficient in refined petroleum products and position the country as a leading oil export hub.
