Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has enjoined youths in the state to key into Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda of building a prosperous and liveable Anambra.
Dr Ibezim made the call when the executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Anambra State Chapter, paid him a visit at his office in Awka.
While urging them to get involved in the state government’s agenda for youths, the Deputy Governor disclosed that plans were been structured to ensure that Anambra youths are empowered to be part of various investments attracted to the state.
Dr Ibezim while also charging them on leadership ability, tasked the NYCN exco to take the organization agenda serious as days have started counting for them to deliver on their mandate.
“This is the time to work; you have done a lot of talking. Yesterday is gone; today is here, you have to work today and plan for tomorrow.
“You need to lead your team well as the success of the team will be remembered as well as the failure of the team,’’ he said.
He, then, reassured them of his support while stressing on the need for all NYCN exco members to embark on leadership training in order to maximize their potentials.
“Always be a leader with a difference, he admonished.
The NYCN State Chairman, Mr. Chukwudi Obi-Emeka thanked the Deputy Governor for his support to the state youths under various umbrella bodies, also for his doggerness in ensuring that implementation of various programmes for youths are actualized by the state government.
He also thanked the Deputy Governor for the relative peace the youths of Anambra are enjoying under the Gov. Soludo’s administration.
The State Chairman hinted on some of the activities and programmes of the organization, which he said are aimed at empowering the youths.
Further noting that their programmes have its mandate to carry along all youths in the state, thereby providing the immediate solution of empowering youths.
According to Mr. Obi-Emeka, some grassroots programmes has been kicked off ranging from skill acquisition, ICT programmes, among others across the 179 communities in the state.
