During the 2025 Easter Choral Day celebration in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru urged the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to continue praying for and collaborating with the state government to promote good governance and moral values. Represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu, the governor expressed gratitude to CAN for organizing the event, which brought citizens together in worship and praise.
CAN State Chairman Rev. Dr. Scamb Chinedum Nwokolo encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith despite current hardships, emphasizing the theme “Resurrection and Renewal” as a reminder of hope and divine blessings. The event featured a choral competition among five CAN blocs, with the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) choir emerging as the winner.
In his sermon, Rev. Professor Wilberforce Oti highlighted the transformative power of consistent praise, linking it to resurrection and renewal. The OAIC choir leader, Mrs. Joycy Ejikeme, attributed their victory to God’s grace and pledged to defend their title in the future. The celebration underscored the importance of faith, unity, and community in fostering a brighter future for the state.
