Prominent Nigerian leaders gathered in Abuja to celebrate the 60th birthday of former Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, in a grand colloquium event held at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Continental Hotel. The event, chaired by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saw the presence of key political figures, including ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and ex-Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
The celebration was more than a birthday; it became a platform for reflection on leadership and the state of the nation. It also followed closely on the heels of a press conference where Atiku, Ihedioha, and other opposition leaders hinted at a possible coalition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In his remarks, Atiku described Ihedioha as a patriot and a long-standing associate, highlighting his unwavering commitment to service and nation-building. He noted that birthdays are moments of reflection and appreciation, praying for Ihedioha’s continued good health and contributions to society.
Peter Obi, on his part, praised Ihedioha’s patriotism and dedication to national development, emphasizing his competence, resilience, and commitment to progress. He recognized the former governor’s impact in both state governance and legislative service, praying for his continued success in making meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s growth.
The colloquium served not just as a celebration of a milestone but also as a gathering of political heavyweights, reinforcing discussions on the country’s future leadership.
