The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji has called on Ndi-Anambra to venture into Agriculture in order to save humanity from hunger as well as generate revenue for themselves.
Commissioner Onyenji made the call during the Afia Olu Nnewi held at Enete-Edo Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area.
While intimating them on the investment of Governor Soludo in organic Agriculture, the commissioner told them that no nation can survive without Agriculture.
He informed them of the efforts of the Soludo’s administration towards resuscitating of Igbo culture, values and norms; he praised the people for producing prominent people in Nigeria and Africa.
Commissioner Onyenji, thereby, called on Nnewi indigenes to support the administration of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo in order to ensure peace, security and development of the state.
On his part, the member representing Nnewi North in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Nonso Smart Okafor described Nnewi as a great City due to its commercial status and informed them of the governor’s intention to begin the construction of various roads within the area.
Speaking at the event, the President General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Sir Mmaduka Atueyi said the annual event is an opportunity for them to come together to thank God for keeping them alive to harvest their produce.
“We use this Afia Olu festival to exhibit our rich cultural heritage to the world through traditional wrestling, power tussle, dancing competition among other events.’’
