Fitness Commissioner Hails Contribution of Faith-Based Caregivers, Reassures Continued Partnership

By Chukwudi Nwauba :

Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike has hailed the contributions of Faith-Based Caregivers and reassured them of continued partnership to improve healthcare in the state.

Dr. Obidike said the administration of Gov. Charles Soludo is committed to a partnership that will help improve the healthcare service delivery across the state, for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.

The commissioner said this while addressing the Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ Medical Professionals during their health summit held in Nkpor, Idemili North (LGA).

The Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ is a religious body in the Catholic Church.

“This health summit is very essential, especially the topic being discussed `The Service Delivery and Quality Health Assurance in health and we are equally going to domesticate this in the state.

“In terms of service delivery for me you people are doing well notwithstanding your vocations as Reverend Sisters and I must commend you, people, for choosing two vocations because health is also a vocation.

“A patient once told me that nobody is crowned patient, which means that we must all strive to build a health institution that will take care of everyone bearing in mind that we don’t know who will be referred to receive care.

According to him, Healthcare standardization should be able to take care of everyone irrespective of status; time is also of the essence in service delivery which is why we are making a sincere effort to change the narrative in the state health sector.

“For us as a government we have equally organized Attitudinal Change training for healthcare providers working with us, to improve on the services being rendered to the public.’’
