France has qualified for the Euro 2024 semi-finals after defeating Portugal 5-3 in a penalty shootout.
The match remained goalless through regular time and extra time, despite numerous chances created by both teams. Kylian Mbappe, who played exceptionally well despite a nose injury, was substituted by Coach Didier Deschamps during extra time.
Both goalkeepers put on striking performances, making numerous saves to keep their teams in the game. Ultimately, France scored all five of their penalty shots, with Theo Hernandez netting the decisive goal. Joao Felix’s miss for Portugal sealed their fate, ending their hopes of advancing to the semi-finals.
