The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has urged contenders for the party’s ticket in Anambra State not to use financial inducement to disrupt the party. Ganduje made this appeal during a meeting with APC chieftains under the platform “Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu” in Abuja on Tuesday.
With the APC primary scheduled for April 5, 2025, Ganduje emphasized the need for a credible, free, and fair primary election. He also expressed his preference for a consensus candidate to avoid the financial chaos that often accompanies conventional primaries.
Ganduje stated, “We know they are very rich, they have a lot of money, but they should not use the money to scatter the state. They should use the money to develop the state and build the APC. In fact, I will be highly interested if they can produce a candidate through consensus; I will give them an award if that happens.”
Earlier, Iyke Madu, the National Coordinator of “Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu,” called for an indirect primary due to security challenges in Anambra State. He emphasized the need for a transparent primary process to avoid the pitfalls of previous elections.
