Anambra State Government has inaugurated new executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra state Chapter.
Addressing the Youth at the Archbishop Obiefuna Retreat, Pastoral and Conference Center, Okpuno, Awka on October 13 the State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo commended the Youths for a well-organized event.
The governor represented by his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim said that the objective of a good leadership is to make both the poor and rich good as well as to make the better ones to be the best.
He added that the State Government is poised to create structures that would bring orderliness, peace and security of lives and properties in the state.
The Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol officer to the State Government, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye while speaking on the topic, ‘Solution for Economic, Peaceful and Livable Homeland’ said that the governor’s Solution mantra is all about restoration and improvement from ugly situations.
Mr. Nwoye encouraged the youths to make good use of their God given talents urging them to stop looking for paid employment rather they should create employment so as to have the ability to employ others.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Forster Ihejiofor told the gathering that he was impressed with the outgoing Chairman’s speech and said that everybody has a leadership role to play in every society.
He said that for a leadership to generate the desired output, it must be proactive and that leadership is not all about position but services and values one would be adding to the society.
The Agriculture commissioner described agriculture as a key to wealth creation and called the state youths to take to farming and agriculture adding that the soil is ready to bless whosoever that comes knocking on its door adding that agriculture has enough space to accommodate all the youths in the State.
In his vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba commended the governor for being a youth friendly governor and said that the govvernor is committed to youth development by his action.
He also said that he is grateful to God for making him number one head of this family and to witness the inauguration of the new executive.
He told the youth to believe in themselves and advised them to put all hands on desk with the new administration in order to make the transformation agenda to work.
The Deputy President, NYCN, Mr. Innocent Nduanya commended the State Government for its plan to ensure that the youths of the state are productive.
