A civil society organisation, Leadership & Accountability Initiative, has asked the Anambra State Government to disclose the financial worth of the Governor’s security vote since March 17, 2022.
In a letter to the State Commissioner of Finance made available to Anambra Times, the group’s Head of Mission, Hon Nwazuluahu Henry Shield, said the request was brought under the right of Freedom of Information Act, in the public interest.
Dated January 15, 2024, the application sought a total of security vote disbursements since inception of the Charles Soludo administration; monthly breakdown of the allocations; as well as information on any federal government facility assistance on security.
The group reiterated that the request was necessary in the interest of transparency, accountability and public awareness which tends to guide Governor Soludo’s attitude to governance.
