Relief materials worth Millions of Naria were donated by a group of concerned citizens to Anambra West internally displaced persons at the Umueri Holding camp.
The Group with inscriptions on their crested vests “Obidient for Christ Movement” and “Operation feed the flood victims” donated 100 tubers of yam, 15 cartoons of noodles, 3 bags of garri, 5 bags of rice to the victims.
Other items include bags of Beans, 5 cartoons of tomatoes, gallons of oil, toiletries, stock fish, toothpastes, beverages, clothes, soaps, and detergents.
The Group said that the gesture was to provide succor, and equally complement the ongoing efforts of the Ttansition Committee Chairman, State Government, Individual Donors, Religious Leaders, as well as Political Leaders gearded toward providing good welfare to the internally displaced persons.
Receiving the items, the Anambra West Mayor, Mr. Ikechi Felix who was overwhelmed with joy by the quality & quantity of items donated, applauded the group for their benevolence which he said is worthy of emulation.
The TC Chairman expressed his profound gratitude to the Group and assured them that the items donated would be meticulously used for the betterment of the flood Victims.
