The Holy Family Catholic Parish, Nkpor Agu, Idemili North Local Government Area joined other parishes across the world to celebrate this year’s All Saints Day .
All Saints Day, an annual event held every November 1, is programmed by Christians to pray and remember the Saints that died in Christ and to pray to become saints.
The Parish Priest of the Church, Rev. Fr. Alex Ojo Anosike, in his homily described Saints as “those who radiates the life of Christ ”.
He explained that the Saints were of two types, the Militant and the Saint Triumphant.
Saint Triumphant he said are those who laboured and died in Christ while Saint Militants, are those who are still living, toiling and fighting for Christ.
Fr. Anosike, encouraged Christians to fight as good soldiers of Christ in all areas of life in order to become good soldiers.
He noted that most Christians are too relaxed in the things of God, urging them to fight the good fight of faith against evil deeds.
He advised the faithful to look unto Jesus as the author and finisher of their faith.
“Do not be confined to a patterns of this worldly demands; be transformed by renewing your mind so that you may prove what is right, acceptable and perfect will of God,” Fr Anosike added.
He enjoined the believers in Christ to shun ungodly friends in order to maintain Godly standards.
