It was a news greeted with so many fanfare and huge expectation of what is to come good in Nigerian Football as a former Super Eagles player, Benedict Akwuegbu picked his nomination form as he wants to contest for the position of the Nigerian Football Federation seat come September 30 elective congress of the NFF.
The renowned football administrator who has played football at the highest level disclosed that the need and decision to run for the seat of the President was one of grave importance and timelines.
“If you look at the situation of things in our football, you will understand why it is important that we elect someone of huge capacity to navigate our footballing ship accordingly.
“I have the capacity. I have been tested and I am trusted. Having served in an advance official capacity with Heartland, Mighty Jos and another club side in Austria.
“With this experience, I believe that I am well to do and that’s what actually spurred me on to pick this form. I believe together we can achieve a lot”, he stressed.
The former Super Eagles player has been doing a great job in consulting with top Delegates as election day gets closer.
