Following the legitimate move by OCHA Brigade to enforce the levies agreed between the Bus, Shuttle Bus and Keke drivers and Anambra State Government, it has come to the attention of government that some touts (agboro) and their sponsors have been putting up posters and public announcements, threatening genuine and hardworking Bus, Shuttle Bus and Keke drivers with fire and brimstone if they dare to come out to work tomorrow 4th of November, 2022.
Government is using this opportunity to warn the masterminds of the planned disruption of transport operations to quickly retrace their steps. Law abiding transport operators who have paid the agreed levies have the right to continue to do their businesses peacefully without molestation.
There will be increased number of law enforcement agents on our roads from tomorrow and anybody caught disrupting transport operations will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
Government is hereby calling on all the law abiding transport operators to go about their businesses without fear tomorrow.
SIR PAUL NWOSU
Commissioner for Information
