The lawmaker representing Idemili South Constituency, Mr Ebuka Igwe has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his numerous achievements in Anambra State especially in water sector.
Mr Igwe made this known at Oba town in idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State during the technical handover of solution solar driven water supply project at Isu Primary School, Oba by the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, Awka.
The house member hailed Governor Soludo on how fast the Anambra State Water sector has developed in the recent times through his Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Mr Julius Chukwuemeka.
He charged Oba community to take full ownership by managing and sustaining the water project.
On his own part, the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Mr Julius Chukwuemeka represented by the team leader covering Anambra central senitorial District and the programme Manager of RUWASSA, Mr Nwosu Tochukwu explained that the project was part of the steps towards actualization of Soludo’s vision to make Anambra a livable and prosperous mega city.
He urged them to own, manage and sustain the water project in order to attract other governmental project to their community.
In their separate remarks, the President General of Oba Patriotic Union, Mr Uzor Ejiofor and the Headmistress of Isu Primary School, Mrs Ezekwelu Chinwe thanked the state government for the solution water supply project to the school.
Mrs Ezekwelu used the opportunity to thank the governor for his prompt payment of teachers’ salary and enjoined him to continue with his good works while promising that they will manage and sustain the project.
On his part,the contractor of the project Sir Edwin Okeora frowned at the level of vandalization of working materials he witnessed during the time of executing the project and urge them to put security measures to avoid re-occurence.
Sir Okeora assured that constant water supply is assured with the installation of solar and urged them to take ownership of the water project.
