The Amawbia Community in Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State have promised to deliver the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Chairmanship candidate, Prince Chinedu Okafor, his running mate, Ozo Chukwuebuka Nwammadu and the three APGA councilors from Amawbia Wards come Sept. 28 Local Government Elections.
The promise was made at Eziokpaligwe Square, Amawbia during the campaign visit by Prince Okafor and his team on Sept. 18.
Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Pius Chukwuma Okoye, said that the incumbent Transition Committee Chairman (TCC), Prince Okafor is more than qualified to serve as the elected chairman of Awka South LGA, considering his antecedents.
While describing Prince Okafor as a perfectionist and a man of excellence, the deputy speaker urged him to remain committed to serving Ndi Awka South, always aligning with Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda to making Anambra a progressive, prosperous and habitable homeland.
Chief Okoye thanked Amawbia residents for gracing the event massively, urging them to come out en masse on Sept. 28 to vote APGA candidates for continuity and for the progress of Awka South even as he enjoined Prince Okafor to reciprocate the gesture.
The APGA Chairmanship flag bearer, Prince Okafor, while soliciting for massive support, promised quality representation.
He thanked Gov. Soludo for endorsing him as the TC Chairman, commending the deputy speaker for his superb support.
He pleaded with the electorate to join APGA moving train to transform the state to a prosperous homeland of Gov. Soludo’s dream.
The President General (PG), Amawbia Town Union, Engr. Goddy Aronu, said that Amawbia community will vote for APGA candidates considering the giant strides recorded by the Soludo administration, still counting.
He prayed that Prince Okafor will emerge victorious, urging him to reciprocate the good gestures of Amawbia people.
Blessing Prince Okafor and his running mate, Ozo Nwammadu by the Nze na Ozo title holders of Amawbia, Nze Emma Nwokoye, a former Secretary, Anambra State Boundary Commission noted that Prince Okafor’s grassroots personality, his antecedents and relationship with Amawbia and Awka South in general are more than enough to give him victory come Sept. 28.
The Amawbia APGA Councilorship candidates are Clement Nwanna -Ward I, Chukwuka Uyanwune -Ward II, and Nwamaka Onwuzuligbo -Ward III.
The event was well attended by political appointees, including the Director General of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade, Chief Celestine Anere.
Ijele masquerade dance added glamour to the event.
