Elections in some parts of the Awka Capital territory monitored recorded peaceful conduct as voters turned out unfettered to exercise their franchise.
Compliance to the movement restrictions were not totally adhered to as the Nkwo Market Awka opened for business.
Many shops and business centres were closed to respect the government order to enable the electorate freely visit their voting centres for accreditation and voting.
At the Ezioliji Square two polling unit 007 Umuzocha village Awka Mrs. Florence Nwangwu an APGA agent described the election as hitch free as the electorate filed in at will to exercise their voting Rights.
A PDP agent at the polling unit Mr. Kelechukwu Nnatuanya declined comments but felt satisfied that the exercise was good.
At the Umuzocha village Square Awka Ward two polling unit 020, the APGA party agent Barrister Emenike Nnajide conformed that the election in the area was free, credible and fair.
The coordinating APGA agent in the area and the Anambra State Chairman Waste Management Authority Mr. Mike Ozoemena described the election in the area as free, fair, credble, and peaceful.
At the NUJ Anambra Secretariat in Awka, the polling unit was calm and election officials seen at their duty post tidying up for the day.
In all, many Anambra electorate turned out of their own volition to cast their votes in Awka the capital of Anambra state.
