Hardly has any week passed without Anambra State Government awarding contracts for the construction of new roads or flagging off the constructions of new ones by Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR), governor of Anambra State.
The latest road construction to be awarded is the Niger Bridge Head to Sokoto road, Onitsha. Part of the contract is to properly channelize the famous Nwangene stream into River Niger.
The 2.17 kilometres road with 12.4 metres width will be done by TEC Engineering Company Nigeria Limited at the cost of N2,749,321,264.96 and it shall be completed within eight months of mobilization.
Work will also commence on some community roads at Mbaukwu from Saint Lawrence Anglican Church to Ngene Mmiri Shrine to Iyi-utuko stream to Ogodo Village square to Igwe Mbaukwu road. The road is 1.74 kilometres long and 6 meters wide. The work will be done by TAMAD Construction Ltd at the cost of N497,781,522.00 and it will be finished in six months.
