Before our very eyes, Wike and his band of followers have been making Rivers State ungovernable for Governor Sim Fubara. Three Local Government offices burnt, just like that! Who knows what will happen next.
Truth is that our President has been playing the Ostrich. Meanwhile we know that Mr President can end the political rascality going on in Rivers State by one simple but firm pronouncement. Yes, Wike worked for him to win Rivers State. But he has equally settled him with the juicy position of FCT Minister and it should end there. He should face his job and allow Governor Fubara to work for Rivers State people who also belong to Mr President’s constituency. Mr President should tell Wike in plain terms to face his job and do it well or resign and go back to do Rivers State politics and be prepared to face the consequences of disturbing public peace and subverting the governance of a duly elected Governor. Wike is not the first person to put somebody in a high office. If my memory serves me right, Wike served out his tenure without interruption from his predecessor(s).
Mr President should end this madness and wanton disruption of public property and peace in Rivers State. He owes it to Rivers State people, his people.
