Hon Chuma Nwosu
AWKA – Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, Labour Party governorship aspirant for the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State has challenged other aspirants in the party to prepare for the primary election instead of spreading insinuation of imaginary settlement to pick a candidate among them.
Nwosu, in a statement said it will be incomprehensible and a crass approach to convince party officials that people who have worked the least to promote Labour Party in Anambra State and indeed, market themselves to would be delegates for the Governorship Primary Election deserve a second look or any consideration for nomination by the party and it’s numerous officials at the Ward, Local Government and State levels.
He said that as for him, he is an aspirant for the governorship of Anambra State under the party and he is in the race to win the primary election and go on to win the Governorship election on November 8th, 2025.
He wrote: “From the very onset, as a card-carrying member of LP and active participant and supporter in the 2023 presidential and general elections, I have met with LP state, local government and officials for a record four times in their respective places of abode in an effort to revitalise and consolidate the party structures in Anambra.
“I have invested massively in the race and for the long haul! While I wish my fellow aspirants, within and outside Labour Party good luck given our shared commonality of interest to rescue Anambra State from its prevailing dismal circumstances and pervasive insecurity; that commitment to me is not subject to trade-offs or quid pro quos or any purported negotiation with anyone or group whatsoever and howsoever. I remain mission focused and committed to rebuilding the State LP party structure ahead of the 2025 elections.
“Accordingly, I wish to place it on record that I will not be distracted by those who wish to use subliminal propaganda or media ploys as a means of gaining any undue advantage over the most visible and hardworking aspirant at the grassroots of our dear Party at the Ward and Local Government Areas of Anambra State”.
According to him, as a member of Labour Party in good standing, he believes in the efficacy of the Party Constitution and the Rule of Law.
These he said, are the basis for determining who will emerge as the party flag bearer, after the statutory party Delegates would have done so in a credible, free and fair Governorship Primary Election.
“To those who think they can hiest the Governorship ticket by other means; I can only say, let’s meet on the field. No more needs be said at this time.
“I urge all my supporters in and outside our great party to ignore any old or new style propaganda from any source or quarters regarding any purported negotiation, meetings or stepping down howsoever for any person or group of persons because there is absolutely no truth in them at all. Remain focused and resilient on the Work at hand. Eyes on the ball”, he concluded.
