Amaka Okagbue now Iyom Ugegbe Uzu
It was a Good Friday to remember in Umunnachi as Mrs. Amaka Okagbue was inducted into the esteemed Iyom Agbanze Umunnachi, receiving the revered title Iyom Ugegbe Uzu. The vibrant ceremony drew close family, friends, and associates of the Okagbue family, celebrating a woman whose grace and strength mirror the prestige of the honour bestowed.

Her husband, Chief Uzu Okagbue, Ochualili Umuogbenye, a titled Nze and staunch promoter of Igbo heritage, stood proudly by her side. Known for his passion for tradition and culture, Uzu’s joy was evident as his wife joined the ranks of great women recognized for excellence in family and societal values.

Though not all could attend the induction due to circumstances beyond their control, many well-wishers turned up the following day, including Chief Chido Obidiegwu and yours truly, to offer Iyom Ugegbe Uzu the traditional handshake in recognition of her well-earned honour. The spirit of tradition lives on, and so does the legacy of the Okagbue name.
