NEMA Receives 174 Stranded Nigerians From Libya

National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) received 174 stranded Nigerians from Libya at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on Tuesday.

According to them, the 174 returnees comprised 69 female adults, 5 female children, 10 female infants, 75 male adults, 12 male children, and 3 male infants, where 23 of them have minor medical cases.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the European Union assisted in bringing back the returnees to the country.

Since 2017, the two groups have been assisting the Nigerian government to bring back stranded Nigerians in Libya back to Nigeria, and since this year, 2,044 persons have returned to Nigeria from Libya.
