The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announce the German Tactician, Bruno Labbadia as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
The announcement was made in the early hours of Tuesday, 27th August, after the football body reached an agreement with Bruno Labbadia, thereby making him the 37th head coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles.
According to the NFF, Labbadia appointment is with immediate effect to tackle the present challenges of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda with four other matches to conclude the qualifying race following in the months of October and November.
They noted that their decision to hire a foreign technical director for the Super Eagles was because of the Eagles poor outing and struggles in qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup under coach Finidi George, who later resigned when NFF announced that they will hire a foreign technical director for the Super Eagles to support him.
Bruno Labbadia was born in Darmstadt Germany on 8 February, 1966. He played for German Bundesliga and Bayern Munich and also coach some famous clubs like Hertha Berlin, VFB Stuttgart, VFL Wolfsburg, Hamburger SV, Bayer Leverkusen, among others.
