De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF) to Build Cancer Diagnostic Centre and Wins Philanthropy Award
A non-governmental organisation, De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF), has announced plans to build an ultra-modern cancer diagnostic centre in the South Eastern region of Nigeria. This ambitious project, estimated at N120 billion, aims to provide subsidized medical services to the community.
The DIPF, a group dedicated to the development of the South East through various initiatives, has been recognized as Champion Newspapers’ 2024 Most Outstanding Philanthropic Organisation in Nigeria. Additionally, the President of DIPF and CEO of Saint Buniks Group, High Chief Dr. Nwabunike Darlington, received the 2024 Excellence In Leadership Award from Champion Newspapers.
Dr. Mrs. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa, Group Managing Director of Champion Newspapers Limited, praised the organisation for its dedication to humanitarian services and significant investments in education.
High Chief Darlington expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted DIPF’s commitment to offering full scholarships to students in the South East, with a target of 10,000 beneficiaries in four years. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to support widows and other vulnerable groups.
The cancer diagnostic centre is set to commence construction in the first half of 2025. DIPF is collaborating with South Eastern governors to determine the best location for the facility, aiming to make cancer diagnosis and treatment more accessible and affordable.
Additionally, DIPF plans to build school blocks in various local government areas across the five South Eastern states—Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo—to support education in rural communities.
High Chief Darlington emphasized the need for collective efforts to uplift the South East and reduce the region’s marginalization. DIPF’s initiatives aim to address pressing social challenges and improve the lives of the people in the region.
