The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the incessant economic hardship that has continued to ravage Nigerians is surmountable.
“This could be achieved with positive approach and rightful disposition by the leaders and the led”.
This is contained in his Independence Celebration Speech and message to Nigerians as the country celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary.
The Speaker paid glowing tribute to the country’s founding fathers for their service and sacrifice towards the growth and development of the country.
He said, “I call on Nigerians to sustain the good legacies which the foremost Nationalists and elder Statesmen bequeathed to them in order to enable their efforts and vision to endure.
“I have the strong hope that Nigeria will be great and prosperous again, therefore I charg the people to see the peace, unity and development of the country as a collective responsibility.”
He enjoined religious and political leaders as well as the masses to seek the face of God through prayer for the revival of the country, adding that Nigeria has all it takes to bounce back to the era of economic boom and adequate security of lives and property of the masses.
Rt. Hon. Udeze commended those in leadership positions who have continued to use their exalted offices to improve the living standard of the masses and prayed God to drive away those inhuman acts and other vices that have continued to retard the pace of Nigeria’s development and hamper corporate existence of the people.
