The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu has donated assorted relief materials and cash to flood victims in his home town, Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.
The relief materials was to aid their survival as well as help ease stress and pain caused by flood while waiting for the water level to recede.

Nwosu while presenting the items at the holding camp in the area, encouraged the victims to remain steadfast and focused, never to lose faith in God in this trying times as their plight would soon be addressed by Gov. Charles Soludo, saying that he was also affected.

Commissioner Nwosu with his team also implored stakeholders, individuals, clergy and heads of companies to come to their rescue, calling for assistance such as medications mosquito nets and blankets to relieve the victims.
According to Nwosu, he felt the need to support his people and to show solidarity as a son of the soil, encouraging them to be patient as it will soon be over.

He also visited his residence which was also flooded, saying that his expensive crops were destroyed, urging the federal government to do the needful, explaining that the state government could not handle it all by itself.
Dame Chinyere Mbakwe, the newly appointed member of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) who was among the team urged the victims to remain calm as help is on the way.

The victims thanked the commissioner for being sensitive to their plights, showing that he is indeed son of the soil and promised to use the items judiciously.
While praying to God to continue to bless and protect the commissioner, the victims also pleaded with him to encourage other relevant stakeholders in the state to come to their rescue.
