Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, has empowered the Isuachara community with N150 million to boost agricultural production amid Nigeria’s worsening economic challenges.
Odii announced the initiative during the Isuachara Day celebration and grand reception held in his honour at Isuachara Primary School, Anioma Isu, in Onicha Local Government Area.

He stated that three individuals from each of the five kindreds in Isuachara would be selected for training in modern farming techniques. Upon completing the training, each of the 15 beneficiaries will receive N3 million to start their own agricultural ventures.
“Our community is known for producing rice, yam, cassava, and vegetables. That is why I am supporting our farmers with the skills and funds to expand,” Odii said.

He added that the agricultural programme would become an annual initiative, rotating among community members.
In addition to the empowerment plan, Odii donated N20 million to support the community’s N300 million town hall project. He pledged to contribute more if the funds are used transparently. He also gave another N20 million to the Isuachara Day event committee and extended financial support to various community groups.
During the event, the Isuachara Development Union conferred on Odii the chieftaincy title of “Omeziriobodo 1 of Isuachara,” alongside six other sons of the community.

Speaking at the event, the union’s National Chairman, Emmanuel Ogudu, praised Odii’s consistent service to the people and described the honour as well-deserved. He expressed hope that the annual event would strengthen unity in Isuachara.
The Chairman of the occasion, Professor Ogbonna Ogbu, who also received a chieftaincy title, commended the 2025 celebration and lauded the community’s efforts to honour its benefactors.
