Anambra State Government says it will synergize with Community Leaders to ensure effective distribution of Oil and Coconut Palms seedlings to vulnerable households across the state.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Forster Ihejiofor, who made this known in a press statement, noted “President Generals, Village Chairmen, in collaboration with inclusive kindreds leadership are expected to generate verifiable list of potential beneficiaries, one per household”
According to him, the list comprising the relatively poor and vulnerable households according to their kindreds should be forwarded to the Ministry on or before Thursday, 4th May, 2023.
“As a fulfillment of Governor Soludo’s manifesto promise to Ndi Anambra, over a hundred thousand households, at least 400 from each of the 326 electoral wards, are targeted this year with a combination of oil and coconut palm seedlings”
“This design gives us ownership of the noble task of reviving the oil palm industry, exploring the coconut palm opportunities thus establishing sustainable state economic security and viable livelihoods for all and sundry”
While describing the state government’s agro economic as transformative with associated value chain wealth creation, he urged citizens to seize the opportunity and support the bottom-up agro economic poverty alleviation agenda of the State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo to build a secure future for the state.
